Yoyo Mahdy Signs
Treaty United are delighted to announce the signing of Yoyo Mahdy.
A Limerick native and two-time First Division winner, he joins Treaty having spent the second half of the 2023 season at Bray Wanderers.
A former schoolboy at Mungret Regional, it was at UCD that the attacker rose to prominence with 35 goals in 94 appearances for the students. His goals helped UCD to the 2018 First Division title, while his exploits in 2020 saw him win the golden boot along with being named in the PFAI First Division Team of the Year.
Mahdy tasted First Division glory once more with Shelbourne in 2021 before enjoying spells with Finn Harps, Olympic Alexandria in Egypt along with the aforementioned Bray Wanderers.
Speaking to TreatyUnitedFC.com following his signing, Yoyo was delighted to return home:
“I’m delighted to get the deal done! I can’t wait to get going and I’m looking forward to seeing the fans at the Markets Field!”
Manager Tommy Barrett also spoke to TreatyUnitedFC.com about his excitement at getting a local player of Yoyo’s talent signed up:
“Yoyo is a great signing for us. He’s a great addition to the squad and him being local is very important. We know him since he’s 17 or 18, he’s technically very good, can both score and create goals and is a really good professional. He scored a lot of goals with UCD, and his time spent in both the Premier Division and Egypt means he’s an experienced player at just 25.”
