Home team news
Manager Tommy Barrett said ahead of the game: “Another tough game considering the injuries and suspensions but as usual the lads will give it their best.”
Conor Winn, Darren Collins, Success Edogun, Mark Walsh, Fionn Doherty and Denzil Fernandez are all out.
There are no new returnees from injury since last week, however, Conor Barry has trained this week. Enda Curran, Dean George and Marc Ludden were all hoping to participate in training ahead of the game.
Andy Spain is suspended following his dismissal last week against Galway, Ben O’Riordan is still serving a ban following a red card against Longford Town.
Treaty United
It was back to earth with a bang last Friday night as a clinical Galway United side ran out 3-0 winners at the Markets Field to end Treaty United’s four-game winning run.
The league leaders took their chances well but Tommy Barrett’s men played with confidence in spells during the game and will rue missing some early chances before a spot kick was awarded to Galway for an Andy Spain handball. David Hurley converted the penalty on twenty minutes and a killer blow followed just before half-time as Francely Lomboto tucked away a close range effort.
Ibrahim Keita scored a third in injury time to flatter the visitors who benefitted from a second yellow card for Spain who was dismissed on 60 minutes for a foul on the edge of the Treaty box. The decision effectively ended the game as a contest.
Treaty, though, will take heart from a run of good form before that game, including wins over Kerry, Bray, Athlone and Longford.
Finn Harps
The Donegal side have struggled in recent weeks with four losses in-a-row leaving them languishing second from bottom.
Dave Rogers’ men will be hoping for a morale boosting win after a 2-0 away loss to Bray Wanderers that was followed by a chastening 4-0 home defeat to Waterford last week.
Goals have been hard to come by for Finn Harps with just 14 scored in 15 games.
With this in mind, they have made new additions to their squad in the last week, bringing in former Derry City man Patrick Ferry, a centre forward, and welcoming back academy graduate Stephen Doherty, a midfielder. Neither will feature against Treaty and won’t be eligible for selection until next month
Past Meetings
The clubs have only met once in league competition, a 2-0 defeat for Treaty in Ballybofey with goals from Ryan Rainey and Filip Fjeldheim Da Silva deciding the game.
