Scott Kirkland Re-Signs
Treaty United are delighted to announce the re-signing of Scott Kirkland for the 2024 season.
A former schoolboy at Bridge United, Scott has since progressed through the Treaty United Carelon Academy before making his first team debut in June of 2022.
Scott became one of the first Treaty United Carelon Academy players to graduate to the Senior Men’s side when he signed a first team deal in December of 2022.
Scott has recorded 18 competitive appearances in total. Manager Tommy Barrett has entrusted him in playing from the start on six occasions including big games against eventual First Division champions Galway United and Wexford FC, amongst others.
Capable both at centre back and in a defensive midfield role, Kirkland is teak tough in defence and confident moving forward with possession.
Treaty United Senior Men’s manager Tommy Barrett was happy to have tied Kirkland down for the forthcoming year when speaking to TreatyUnitedFC.com:
“Scott is another good signing and, like Fionn, having him shows the pathway that is there for our academy players. He played 16 times last year which is a good return for a player of his age, and we’ll expect him to have a greater impact in the new season. He’s a player who’s flexible in his positioning and has the right attitude to progress in this league.”
