The Teams
Treaty United
Treaty United sit in eighth position and seven points off the playoff spots, losing little ground despite last week’s defeat. That loss at the hands of Athlone Town ended a recent good run of form that saw Treaty lose just one of their last six games, and they will be hopeful of getting three points against a Cobh side that they have done well against in 2024.
Treaty were kept scoreless on Friday for the first time since early May against the same opposition. They will fancy their chances of getting back on the scoresheet against a Ramblers side that have struggled at the back, as evidenced by Treaty putting four past them in their two meetings.
In terms of team news, Enda Curran and Robbie Lynch should both be good to return for Treaty having served the final game of their respective suspensions last week. Thomas Considine was a surprise return to the playing squad last Friday and is a further boost for this game.
Cobh Ramblers
Cobh Ramblers sit in seventh place, just two points ahead of Treaty United. After a thonking at the hands of Cork City they bounced back last Friday by picking up a point against a high-flying UCD side. It is one of many good results that the Rams have picked up of late including wins over Finn Harps, UCD and Bray Wanderers.
While they have struggled defensively, they have not been short of goals and that is thanks to David Bosnjak and Matt McKevitt who have scored six goals each for the Rams
Previous Encounters
Treaty United boast a good record against Cobh Ramblers, just leading the way in terms of wins. Cobh’s four wins over Treaty came during the 2023 season, a season which saw a heavily backed Cobh side finish third in the First Division and win the Munster Senior Cup. The sides last met at the Markets Field on the season’s opening day when Treaty United ran out 3-1 winners.
