The Teams

Treaty United

Sitting in ninth place on eight points, Treaty United recorded their fourth straight defeat in all competitions last week when Galway United advanced to the semi-final of the Avenir Sports All-Island Cup at Treaty’s expense. Only one goal, a penalty, separated the sides which shows the competitive nature of Dominic Foley’s team, but they won’t take much solace from it and will want to return to winning ways on Saturday.

One point of concern for Treaty will be their inability to score goals. They were kept scoreless for the third game in a row last Saturday along with it being their fifth time in six games that they have failed to find the net. The side are creating chances but struggling to put them away.

Shamrock Rovers

Shamrock Rovers sit in sixth place on ten points coming into this game, just two points clear of Treaty United who have a game in hand. They have picked up some much-needed form of late with a run of three wins in a row which was only ended last week by FAI Cup winners Athlone Town. Rovers had failed to fully click this year but manager Collie O’Neill will be hoping that the recent string of victories will kick-start their season, especially with the semi-final of the Avenir Sports All-Island Cup and the first round of the FAI Cup both coming up.

Rovers are likely to have Jaime Thompson back from injury for this clash, but it looks like it will come too soon for Savannah McCarthy who has yet to feature for Rovers.
