Eóin Martin Signs

Treaty United are delighted to announce the signing of defender Eóin Martin.

A dual USA and Irish citizen, Eóin joins the club following a successful trial period where he impressed with his defensive capabilities.

Capable in the centre of defence and as a full back, Eóin lined out for New York City FC as a youth where he played at the highest level before going to play collegiately.

Eóin spent two seasons with the Lafayette College Leopards, making 40 appearances for the Pennsylvania-based side while also being named the league’s defensive player of the week on two occasions. He spent a further two seasons with the University of Kentucky Athletics where he racked up 25 appearances in the Bluegrass State.

The 22-year-old also brings experience from the United Soccer League, lining out for Manhattan SC and the Hudson Valley Hammers across USL League One, League Two and the Pre-Professional league.

Speaking to TreatyUnitedFC.com, Eóin spoke of his excitement for the new season and this
new challenge with Treaty United:
“I’m really happy to be at Treaty United. I’m excited to have the opportunity to line out for the club and I’m really looking forward to the new season starting on February 14th .”

Senior Men’s manager Tommy Barrett spoke highly of Eóin to TreatyUnitedFC.com:
“Eóin comes into us having previously played in the USL. He’s predominantly a number six or a right-back, but we can see him as a centre-back too, which provides lots of cover for us. He’s a good athletic player with a good attitude, he’s calm, technically good on the ball and adds to our defensive options. We’re glad to have him for the new season.”
