Ed Gallagher Appointed U15 Boys Manager
Treaty United are glad to announce the appointment of Ed Gallagher as Treaty United U15 boys manager.
Ed joins Treaty United with over 15 years of coaching experience, including several years working in the FAI Centre of Excellence in Killarney along with being a coach on the Limerick Desmond side that won the Plate competition in the 2017 Kennedy Cup.
Outside of coaching, Ed has played locally at adult level with both Askeaton AFC and Ballysteen AFC and has represented the Limerick Desmond League at Youth and Oscar Traynor level. Ed enjoyed a spell with Limerick FC at U20 and A Championship level and played for the University of Limerick during his studies. A move abroad saw Ed win a state championship with Australian side Boroondara Carey Eagles before moving to Fitzroy City SC.
Ed will be ably assisted by Andrew Carey and Dean Callinan who will form his backroom team ahead of the forthcoming season.
The process of building for the new season has already begun for Ed as he spoke about trials and styles of play for the forthcoming season:
‘We have just finished a competitive trials process where the standard was very good and we had to make a few difficult decisions but overall, we are very happy with the squad we have picked and can’t wait to get started with pre-season training. For next season we want to prioritise the development of all the players helping them to maximise their potential and we want to play an attacking and creative style of football.’
Treaty United would like to express our gratitude to former manager Chris Collopy for his contribution to the team and wish him all the best with his exciting new endeavours.
