Dean Owens Signs

Treaty United are delighted to announce the signing of Dean Owens.

The forward signs for the club following a successful trial period in recent weeks, including grabbing the winner in a recent pre-season friendly against Kerry FC.

A former schoolboy with Athy Town, Dean is familiar with playing in Limerick having lined out, and scored, for Kildare in the 2018 SFAI Kennedy Cup final where they came up just short against a DDSL side boasting Evan Ferguson.

Dean started his League of Ireland journey with CK United and has since lined out with Klub Kildare and Bray Wanderers, becoming a formidable attacking threat at MU20 level with the latter two clubs.

Dean made his bow at MU20 level in 2023 with Klub Kildare, spending 18 months with the thoroughbred county club before moving to Bray Wanderers for the second half of the 2024 season. In the past two seasons Dean has recorded a remarkable 22 goals and seven assists from 46 appearances in all competitions and now is all set to make the step up to Senior football for the first time.

Speaking to TreatyUnitedFC.com, Dean was excited to have signed for the club and is eagerly awaiting the opening game of the season:

“I’m delighted to sign for Treaty United ahead of the new season. I’m really looking forward to the first game on February 14th!”

Manager Tommy Barrett spoke to TreatyUnitedFC.com and highlighted how Dean is a great talent with high potential:

“Dean is a good young player that we think can make an impact this year. We will work on building an engine in him, but technically he is very good. He scored a lot of goals at MU20 level with Klub Kildare and was one of the top strikers in that league, and I think that he is definitely one for the future. He has a lot of quality and he will show that this season.”
