Academy Report 12th-13th April
International News

Congratulations to MU20 captain, Matt Jones, who played the full 90 minutes for the FAI U18 Schools team in their Centenary Cup clash away to Northern Ireland in Belfast last Friday. The FAI Schools team recorded a 6-2 victory with Matt grabbing an assist.
5 of our 6 Treaty United Carelon Academy teams were in EA Sports League of Ireland Academy league action this weekend.
MU15
Our MU15s travelled to Castlebar to take on Mayo FC in Group C of the MU15 league.
Our lineup for the game was as follows:
Starting 11:
Alex Clancy, Conor Kennedy, Danny Hammond, James Palache, Alex Meaney, Mieszko Kurylonski, Paddy Gubbins, Cathal Donnelly, Mighty Odudu, Ben Doumbouya (C), Mark Regan
Subs:
Daniel O’Connell, Jordan Brown, Gavin Scanlan, Wisdom Amaeze, Conor Brady, Kaylum Matha
An excellent performance from our MU15s as they made it 2 wins on the bounce with a comfortable victory over Mayo FC on a 7-2 scoreline.
Key Performance Indicators on how we train are coming through with our left attacking winger scoring, our right attacking winger scoring and our centre forward scoring and our right back also got on the scoresheet. Our assists came from the flanks and from central.
Conor Kennedy grabbed himself 4 goals in the game with our other goals coming from Danny Hammond, Kaylum Matha and Cathal Donnelly.
The only downside was that the two goals we have away were both very avoidable.
The MU15s are back in action on Saturday, April 26th when they host Sligo Rovers in the Manor Fields in Adare.
WU17
Our WU17 travelled to Bishopstown to take on league leaders Cork City.
Our lineup for the game was as follows:
Starting 11:
Ruby Linnane, Eibhlin Butler, Caila Neligan, Jennifer Hogan, Alex Sheehy, Kate Lee, Mya Lee, Rachel O’Shea, Annabel Mulcaire Quille (C), Mioda O’Shea, Orlaith O’Connell
Subs:
Emma Jones, Aoibhe O’Leary, Ellen Goggin, Ellen Hackett, Ewelina Stankevituite, Aoife Frawley
Our WU17s lost 4-3 away to Cork City. We were 2 up after 17 minutes with goals from Annabel Mulcaire Quille and Rachel O’Shea and we had some great 1v1 chances to go 3 up but didn’t take them. We then gave away a sloppy goal before half time to let Cork back into the game. They scored twice early in the second half to go 3-2 up after 2 breakaway goals. We got ourselves level again through Aoife Frawley on 70 mins but conceded their winner on 85 minutes as we chased the win.
It was a tough one to take but we’ll learn from it. We were by far the better footballing team with Ireland WU17 head coach, James Scott, watching on.
The Treaty girls are next in action on Saturday, April 26th when Kerry FC are visitors to the Manor Fields in Adare.
Sunday saw another three of our academy teams in action.
MU14
Our MU14s travelled to Thomastown to take on CK United.
Our lineup for the game was as follows:
Starting 11:
Emmet O’Donnell, Marco Lopez, Fionn Kennedy, Gibby Celebrini, Hugh Canty, Yanis Mambouna, Gabriel Nseka, Dion Hannon, Jack Bourke, Ciaran Irwin, Sean Kelly (C)
Subs:
Liam McCague, Adam Rochford, Harry Millan, Paddy O’Sullivan, Seamus Greene

Our MU14s had a long trip to Kilkenny but it proved to be a fruitful one with a fantastic team performance and three spectacular goals from Fionn Kennedy, Dion Hannon and Harry Milan.
There was some resolute defending on show, especially from the back four and goalkeepers. As a result, the opposition didn’t look like scoring throughout the game. We also had some great wide attacking play.
Players of the match were Yanis Mambouana and Gibby Celebrini.
Our MU14s are next in action on Sunday, April 27th when Cork City are the visitors to the Manor Fields in Adare.
WU19
Our WU19s travelled to Ferrycarrig Park to take on Wexford FC.
Our lineup for the game was as follows:
Starting 11:
Chloe Widger, Kristina Bokmane, Emma Meaney, Sadbh Griffin, Ava Neary (C), Grace Ehinger, Ciara Breslin, Lily-Anne O’Meara, Jayne Ryan, Sirena Celebrini, Amy Tierney
Subs:
Niamh Kinnehan, Ella Carey, Abbey Walsh, Chloe Wallace, Saoirse Kent, Suvi Isabella O’Connor
The long trip to Wexford was a worthwhile experience with Treaty WU19s picking up another 3 points on the road on a 4-3 scoreline.
Treaty got off to an excellent start once again this week forcing a corner on 4 minutes. The resulting corner was taken by Amy Tierney with a Wexford defender handling the ball in the area. Ciara Breslin, who had a fantastic performance throughout the game, stepped up to take the awarded penalty and coolly slotted the ball home to have the visitors ahead.
The game flowed end to end for the next 20 minutes and on 27 minutes Wexford pulled one back as Treaty were caught high on attack. Shortly afterwards, Wexford were awarded a penalty for handball and scored to go ahead with just over a half an hour played.
Treaty’s resilience kicked in and Jayne Ryan put Treaty on level terms at 39 minutes with a superb finish after great work from Sadbh Griffin.
Within 3 minutes, Treaty went ahead with Amy Tierney, fresh from scoring for the senior women on Saturday, scoring a sublime goal thanks to a beautiful through ball from Sirena Celebrini.
Treaty’s defence were immense at times under serious pressure from the Wexford attack with Captain Ava Neary and centre back partner Emma Meaney standing strong throughout. WU19 debutant, Kristine Bokmane, promoted from the WU17s for the weekend, showed grit and determination in a highly contested game.
Lily Anne O Meara & Grace Ehinger were causing mayhem in the wide areas and excelling in a very physical battle. Ella Carey, on at halftime, settled the Treaty midfield with her no nonsense approach.
On 55 minutes, Treaty broke away on the left wing with Jayne Ryan beating her opponent to put in a pin point cross that was met at the back post by Grace Ehinger who rifled the ball to the net to put Treaty 2-4 up.
Chloe Widger in the Treaty goal was called on to make a number of crucial saves in the remaining half hour. Fresh legs in Suvi O Connor, Abbey Walsh and Saoirse Kent added life to the Treaty team and nullified Wexford repeated advances into the Treaty half.
However, with 6 minutes remaining, Wexford were awarded their second penalty of the day which they finished to provide some hope for the remainder of the game, but Treaty were having none of it and finished out the game strong to take all 3 points home.
Player of the match was Sadbh Griffin
Our WU19s are next in action on Sunday, April 27th, when they host Waterford FC at the Manor Fields in Adare.
MU17
Our MU17s travelled to Thomastown to take on CK United.
Our lineup for the game was as follows:
Starting 11:
Conor Crofton, Kian Dempsey, Conor O’Mahony, Mark O’Callaghan, Warren O’Mahony, Colin Healy, Alex Omoruyi, Christian Stack, Timmy O’Sullivan, James Rochford, Joey Nwankwo (C)
Subs:
Darragh Van Veen, Daniel O’Connell, Tadhg McElligott, Rory McKeon, Nathanael Mthembu, Joe Murphy, Gavin Ryan
Our MU17 continued their recent unbeaten run with a 1-1 draw against CK United in Kilkenny.
We had some disruptions to our preparations for this game as some of our players had travel commitments with their schools. This meant that some of our key players couldn’t commit to a full 90 minutes and had to start on the bench.
Weather conditions for the game were very poor with heavy rain from the outset.
The game plan was to keep the game very tight in the first half and introduce some of those players as the second half progressed. This plan was working well until we made a sloppy mistake just before half- time from which the home side were awarded a penalty and they took a 1-0 lead into the break.
The second half was a different story as we dominated the game and equalised through Alex Omoruyi. We had two one-on-one chances which we failed to convert and we really should have come away with all three points. However, it was a point on the road and we are a very young squad with 6 players underage again next year.
Our MU17s continue their league campaign on Sunday, April 27th, when they host Cork City.
