Treaty United FC launched in 2020, with the Women’s team joining the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division in 2020, while the Senior Men joined the SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division in 2021. In addition to the Senior Men’s and Women’s teams, the club now has 7 youth academy teams filled with Irish youth internationals and some of the brightest up-and-coming stars in the country.
The team plays its home games at the historic Markets Field stadium in the middle of Garryowen, Limerick City. Football in Limerick has a deep history. From the inception of the club in 1938 to Limerick winning the inaugural League of Ireland Women’s Championship in 1973, to countless memories of European football in the 1980s in a packed Market’s Field, the game has produced some of the city’s most memorable footballing moments.
Now with new investment the club looks to building the long term future of football in the region. By developing the best young talent in the Women’s and Men’s game the club wants to put an indelible mark on an already storied football scene.
