Ben Lee Signs

Treaty United are delighted to announce the signing of Ben Lee.

Born in South Africa and holding dual citizenship with Canada, Ben signs for the club on a multi-year deal following a successful trial period where he scored against Cork City and Galway United.

A midfielder, Ben lined out for Mountain United in the EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League before making the move to the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy in August of 2019.Ben worked his way through the Whitecaps academy culminating in him making his debut for their Reserve side at 17-years-old in the MLS Next Pro, America’s third tier.

Speaking to TreatyUnitedFC.com, Ben had high praise for his time with the club so far and is looking forward to the new season:
“I’m really looking forward to the season and I’m grateful for this opportunity to play for Treaty United. The coaching staff and players have all been incredible. I believe we have a great squad that can do very well this year.”

Manager Tommy Barrett also spoke to TreatyUnitedFC.com, and mentioned how good the youngster has been so far and how he can see him being a big part of this season:
“Ben is still only 18-years-old, but we think he’s going to be a really good player. Obviously, he has a bit to learn, and he is learning all the time, but he has great energy and a good eye for goal from midfield. He’s a proper number eight, a box-to-box midfielder who is calm on the ball, fit, focused and willing to learn all the time. He’s one for the future and we think he can kick on for sure and have an impact this year with us.”
