The Teams:
Treaty United
Treaty fell to their third league defeat of the season in their last outing as they lost by the odd goal in three away to Wexford FC. Caleigh Boeckx struck for Treaty in between goals from Aoibheann Clancy and Kylie Murphy for the side from the sunny south east. In truth it was a game Treaty deserved more from considering their dominance in the second half, and Dominic Foley will enter Saturday’s game with confidence considering how close they ran Peamount at the Markets Field not too long ago.
Shelbourne FC
Second placed Shelbourne have yet to taste defeat in the eleven games they have played this season and have won their last six in a row. They sit one point behind Galway United (who have a game in hand) and will see Saturday’s game as a must-win if they are to catch the trail-blazing tribeswomen. They had a slow start by their standards with draws against lowly Sligo Rovers and Shamrock Rovers as well as being denied a big win against Athlone Town by a late Madie Gibson equaliser. Since then, Eoin Wearen’s side have shown their quality and are well and truly in a title race with the aforementioned Galway United.
Previous Encounters
Shelbourne have looked forward to this fixture in the past and for good reason, as they have won all nine of the encounters between the sides. Their first meeting in 2023 saw an early Noelle Murray strike give Shels all three points, and that is the closest Treaty have ever gotten to the visitors.
Treaty United wins – 0
Draws – 0
Shelbourne wins – 9
