Laura O’Neill Signs

Treaty United are delighted to announce the signing of Laura O’Neill for the 2024 Women’s Premier Division season.

Laura joins Treaty having been a member of the Limerick Senior Camogie setup for the last nine years where she lined out in goals. During her time in the Senior setup Laura picked up plenty of silverware including an All-Ireland Intermediate and Munster Senior Championship wins as well as several other honours with her club Na Piarsaigh.

A midfielder, Laura started her football journey with Caherdavin Celtic before enjoying spells with both Coonagh United and Murroe AFC Ladies. O’Neill captained theLimerick Women’s & Schoolgirls’ Soccer League (LWSSL) U18 team in her two seasons with the squad, along with spending time in Irish U17 and U19 training camps in 2013 and 2014.

Laura made the difficult decision to dedicate herself solely to playing Senior Camogie with Limerick from 2014 onwards, however, Laura is now back playing football and is all geared up for a big 2024 season. When speaking to TreatyUnitedFC.com, Laura revealed her excitement at signing for Treaty United and how she jumped at the opportunity to return to football:

“I am absolutely delighted to be playing with Treaty United in 2024. It was always in the back of my mind that I would go back playing football someday, and being a local girl from Limerick City, when the opportunity came up to play with Treaty and get the chance to play League of Ireland Football it was just something I couldn’t turn down. It was a difficult decision to make to switch codes but it’s definitely a decision I am happy with. There is a hugely talented group of girls there and I am really looking forward to the season ahead.”
