Fionn Doherty Re-Signs
Treaty United are delighted to announce the re-signing of Fionn Doherty for the 2024 season.
A former schoolboy at Moneypoint AFC, Fionn has since progressed through the Treaty United Carelon Academy before making his first team debut in May of 2022 at just 17-years-old.
Fionn has made a total of 14 competitive appearances for Treaty United since then. This includes high-stakes games like the 2022 FAI Cup Semi-Final against Derry City and both legs of the playoff against Waterford FC that same year. Doherty has impressed with his energy and ball control on the left side of midfield and defence. After an injury-hampered 2023, he will hope to have greater involvement in the new season.
Speaking to TreatyUnitedFC.com, Tommy Barrett was happy to have the 19-year-old tied down for the forthcoming season:
“Fionn is a great player and by having him signed for 2024 it shows the pathway that is there for our academy players. He can play in a variety of positions and has the right attitude to build a career for himself in the League of Ireland, so I’d expect him to make a further impact this year”.
