The Teams
Treaty United
9th placed Treaty United will be looking for their first result since June when they return to action on Saturday for the first time in three weeks.
It was a difficult evening in Treaty’s last outing as Wexford Youths ran out 4-0 winners at Ferrycarrig Park over a Treaty side reduced to ten players for 83 minutes.
Having taken Peamount United to extra-time in the FAI Cup and running Shelbourne close in August, Treaty will be hoping for a similar performance against a buoyant Galway side.
Aoibhe Fleming returns after a successful stint with the Irish Women’s Under-19 side and will be looking to pull the strings for Treaty once more.
Galway United
The good times don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon for Phil Trill’s Galway United side whose only defeat in their last ten games came via a penalty shootout loss to Athlone Town in the FAI Cup.
The newly crowned All Island Cup champions will probably be slightly disappointed that they didn’t go further in their league and FAI Cup campaigns but that hasn’t impacted their motivation to get results every week.
Galway’s defensive record of late has been remarkable with nine clean sheets in ten games, conceding just once away to Wexford Youths in the All-Island Cup Semi-Final.
In front of goal, ex Treaty United player Jenna Slattery has led the way with eight goals in all competitions.
Previous Encounters
Treaty United and Galway United have met only once before owing to this being Galway United’s first season. Their first meeting saw the Tribeswomen run out 1-0 winners at Eamonn Deacy Park.
