The Teams

Treaty United

It’s been almost two months since Treaty United last played as they bowed out of the Avenir Sports All-Island Cup at home to DLR Waves on July 1st, their third loss from three group games.

Treaty lined out with experimental sides in those group games owing to the absence of players and management throughout the summer but are likely to line out as strong as possible this Saturday for their return to league action.

Treaty have added a host of experienced players to their ranks during the Summer such as Chloe McCarthy, Sarah Power and Aoife Cronin amongst others. These additions are likely to play a huge role for Treaty as they bid to finish as high up the table as possible in their remaining games.

Shelbourne FC

Shelbourne came close to reaching the last four of the Avenir All Island Sports Cup only for them to lose out to eventual champions Galway United in their final group game.

They will be disappointed to have missed out on the semi-final of the competition, but they will fancy their chances of retaining their league title despite being six points behind leaders Peamount United. Three of their seven remaining league games are at home, but they do have to face difficult away trips to Shamrock Rovers and a stubborn DLR Waves side.

A quartet of signings in recent days will aid Noel King’s side as they aim to compete on all front, none less than the UEFA Champions League.

Previous Encounters

Treaty United have yet to pick up a result in their eight encounters with Shelbourne. When the sides last met in April at Tolka Park an early strike from Noelle Murray was the difference between the sides.
