Treaty United

Two decent results have been picked up by Treaty since returning from the mid-season break. An Enda Curran wondergoal and William Armshaw strike saw the Mid-West club come away from Athlone with three very welcome points.

An early Bray Wanderers goal caught Treaty cold last Friday night at the Markets Field but Tommy Barrett’s men rallied with another fine finish from top goal scorer Curran to salvage a point.

This fixture is a chance for Treaty to keep the pressure on those in the play-off spots above with several vital games in the coming weeks. 

New signing Jordon Tallon is available to make his debut and Mark Walsh may return to the matchday squad.

Alec Byrne has departed the club.

Success Edogun, Conor Barry and Mark Murphy are all injured

As expected, the new boys have struggled at times with just one win on the board so far but some promising performances have given hope of better times ahead for the recently formed club.

A Munster derby at home is a great chance for a historic win that will keep the healthy crowds coming back to Mounthawk Park.

Past Meetings

This will be just the third league fixture between the sides, with both clubs still in their formative days.

A keenly contested 1-1 draw in Tralee marked the first meeting between the clubs.

A dominant 4-0 victory for Treaty was the result as Kerry made their first trip to the Markets Field in April.

Kerry’s Matt Keane was a stalwart for Treaty in the club’s first two seasons in men’s senior football. Martin Coughlan recently made the move to Tralee after finding first-team chances limited in Limerick.
