Treaty United

The last game of the first half of the season ended in defeat for Treaty United as they went down to a single goal at home to Cobh Ramblers.

One thing that has characterised Tommy Barrett’s teams in the last three seasons, though, is their ability to bounce back and they did just that last Friday night with a win at Athlone Town.

A wonder goal from Enda Curran, surely a contender for goal of the season, following a Pirlo-esque pass from Dean George, was added to in the final moments as William Armshaw forced the ball home from close range.

Hopes of a play-off spot are still very much high as Treaty sit just five points off fifth-placed Bray Wanderers with Friday night a chance to reduce that margin to two.

Bray Wanderers

The Seagulls went four without a win before the mid-season break before edging a lively encounter with Kerry by three goals to two at the Carlisle Grounds last week.

Manager Ian Ryan said his team should have earned the three points in an easier fashion but their trip to the Markets Field will certainly not be an easy game either as they seek to safeguard their play-off berth.

Past Meetings

Treaty United’s first ever competitive senior men’s game was a hard-fought 0-0 draw with 10-men against Bray at the Carlisle Grounds in 2021.

Nine league ties between the sides have yielded four wins for Treaty to Bray’s two.

Last time out, Treaty came away from Bray with three points and three goals, a Curran penalty being followed up by two late on from Armshaw.
