The Teams

Treaty United

Treaty United sit in eighth position on 25 points, seven points off the playoff spots. Treaty advanced to the next round of the Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup last week after a penalty shootout victory over Leinster Senior League outfit Kilbarrack United. Treaty continuously knocked on the door but were left frustrated by a rightfully defensive Kilbarrack who had chances of their own to advance in the competition.

Tommy Barrett will be hoping to draw a line beneath that cup result and build upon the point they picked up away to UCD, a game they deserved more from. Lee J Lynch impressed in his first start for the club last week and could maintain his spot in the starting eleven.

Finn Harps

Finn Harps sit in fourth place in the table on 34 points, just four points clear of sixth place Wexford FC who have a game in hand. Harps were dumped out of the FAI Cup last week away to Cork City, their second time playing them at Turners Cross in as many weeks across both the league and cup.

Despite their league position, Harps have had a patchy run of a late with just one win in their last seven in all competitions. Goals have been an issue for the Ballybofey men who have scored 24 goals this season, but former Treaty United player Success Edogun has scored seven of those. One man who hasn’t been afraid of finding the net against Treaty is Tony McNamee who grabbed the winner in both of the meetings between the sides this year.

Previous Encounters

Harps have had the better of the meetings between the sides with four wins to two. Both sides won two games each in 2023 but Harps have deservedly grabbed two narrow wins in 2024.
