Dutch Signing

Treaty United are delighted to announce the signing of former Dutch youth international defender Mijke Roelfsema.

The 26 year old, Den Haag, Netherlands native joins Dominic Foley’s senior squad having most recently lined out on a professional contract in the Danish top league Elitedivisionen, for Aalborg BK.

Mijke started her career playing for Dutch professional club, ADO Den Haag for 3 seasons, before moving on to the US to play NCAA Division I soccer for Boston College and Rice University.

While in the US she was a highly decorated player winning All-American honours and was a 2020-2021 MAC Hermann Trophy Semi-finalist which recognizes the top players in the entire US university system.

After playing in the US, she went on to a successful professional career lining out for Cypriot Champions, Apollon Limassol in the Champions League, before her recent season in Denmark.

As a youth player she played for the Dutch U17 and U19 youth international squads.

“Mijke came across our path after a recommendation from one of our Senior Women’s players who played with Mijke in university. She immediately caught our eye with her extensive professional and international experience. We feel that she is someone that not only will make an immediate impact as a central defender, but off the field is someone that all of our young players in the club can look up to.”

Mijke will be available to play in the Senior Women’s next home game versus Wexford on Saturday, July 27, at 5pm at Markets Field.
