The Teams
Treaty United
It was heartbreak for Treaty United last Saturday as an 89th minute goal saw Peamount United take all three points at the Markets Field in their SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division clash. Treaty were unlucky not to have at least gotten a point, if not all three, from the game as great chances from Fiana Bradley and Stefanie Young in either half were narrowly saved by the post and the goalkeeper respectively. Despite that loss, Dominic Foley will be happy with his side’s performance and will not let a brilliant Ellen Dolan goal diminish that.
Treaty go into Saturday’s game knowing that a point will guarantee them qualification to the last eight of the competition regardless of the result of the other group game which takes place the following day. Considering the contrasting forms of each team, Treaty United will be gunning for all three points.
DLR Waves
DLR started the season well by playing out a 1-1 draw with Shamrock Rovers, but it has gone south since then with just one draw (and one goal) and six losses to their name.
They are out of the All-Island Cup and so there is nothing but pride for them to play for on Saturday, so it will be interesting to see if manager Laura Heffernan opts to change things up ahead of their trip to Peamount United the following week.
The return of captain Jess Gleeson for last week’s game against Shelbourne was a big boost and she will add some much needed solidity to the Waves backline. Neema Nyangasi has been absent since last month’s draw with Cork City and it remains to be seen if she will return in time for Saturday.
There is some familiarity between the sides with Chloe McCarthy now donning the Waves shirt having spent the second half of the 2023 season with Treaty United. Ruth McDonnell spent the first half of that same season with Treaty United before joining DLR Waves but has been primarily involved with the South Dublin side’s U19 team in 2024.

In thirteen encounters between the sides, it is the Waves who have been the most successful with eight wins to their name.
Treaty won both of the first two encounters between the sides but had to wait until their opening game of the 2024 season to pick up their third win, which came in convincing fashion.
