All 6 of our Treaty United Carelon Academy teams were in EA Sports League of Ireland Academy league action this weekend. It was a mixed weekend with 2 wins 2 draws and 2 defeats from the 6 league games.
MU15
First into action for the weekend were our MU15s who hosted Mayo FC on The Manor Fields Adare at 1.45PM. The sides had met earlier in the season when we recorded a 3-0 victory in Castlebar.

Maybe we were a little complacent coming into this game on the back of beating them 3-0 earlier in the season. The first 30 mins was a little scrappy but we were the better team. One change was made which saw Aaron Cobbs-Sarko come on to the left wing and in the 2nd 30 minute period, Aaron got 2 great crosses in to see Dylan Browne score from the first and Christian Stack score from the 2nd.
Going into the final 30 mins we were on top and looking good so some changes were made with 15 to go, but Mayo got a free kick that saw a great header at the back post put in and the momentum changed with Mayo really going for it. Mayo then got another free kick this time from the other side of the pitch but unlucky for us it came with the same result. The game finished 2 each. Hard not to feel like this was a loss but that is football. We have to just move on and look forward to the next game.
The U15s are back in league action this coming Saturday when they face Limerick FC in Charleville at 2PM in a local derby.
MU20
Across town, the MU20s were in action in the UL North Campus when table-toppers Cobh Ramblers were the visitors. Cobh had emerged 2-1 winners when the sides met in Cobh earlier in the season.

Treaty United 4 Cobh Ramblers 2
The MU20s recorded an excellent 4-2 win to go level on points with Waterford FC at the top of the table and puts us in the promotion positions to Elite phase. An early goal from Kian Mitchell settled the nerves. Tiernan Adelou capped his MU20s debut with a brilliant individual goal to put us 2 up.
Cobh then pulled one back just before half time.
A strong start to the second half saw us take a 3-1 lead when Richkov Boevi headed home from close range. Cobh pulled another back to make it a nervous finish but man of the match Niko Kowlowski sealed all three point with a late strike.
Next up for the MU20s is a trip to Ferrycarrig Park to take on Wexford FC on Saturday at 1PM.
WU17
Our final side in action on Saturday were our WU17s who welcomed Athlone Town to the Manor Fields at 4.30PM. Athlone had recorded a narrow 2-1 victory earlier in the season when the sides met in Lissywoolen.

Treaty United 1 Athlone Town 5
Chloe Widger remains out with a knee injury and Aideen Reidy picked up a knock in warm up and was unable to feature. We started well and took the lead through a free-kick from Aibhlinn Cotter. We went into the half-time break with a 1-0 lead.
Athlone Town started the second half really well and upped their levels. Unfortunately, we didn’t respond to this and we failed to deal with the waves of attacks from the visitors who ran out comfortable winners in the end.
We still sit second in the table, behind Athlone Town, with all to play for in the upcoming games.
Next up for the WU17s is a trip to Castlebar to take on Mayo FC at 4PM on Saturday.
Sunday saw another three of our academy teams in action.
MU17
Our MU17s made the short journey to Hogan Park to take on Limerick FC in a local derby. Treaty United emerged 3-0 winners when the teams met earlier in the season in Adare.

Limerick FC 2 Treaty United 2
The MU17 side were held to a draw away to Limerick FC. Treaty took the lead through a well struck Charlie Campbell effort on the 30th minute. The home side equalised from the penalty spot just before half time. Limerick took the lead 10 minutes into the second half, scoring again from the penalty spot. Chasing the game Treaty missed some big opportunities and looked to going home pointless until Jamie Faulkner volleyed home deep in to injury time to save a point. The MU17s remain 2nd in the table.
The MU17s are in action again next Sunday when they host Waterford FC at 4.30PM in The Manor Fields Adare.
WU19
Our WU19s travelled to Bishopstown to play Cork City. The teams met earlier in the season in Adare when Cork City came away with a 2-1 victory.

Result:
Cork City 7 Treaty United 2
A bad day at the office on Sunday in Bishopstown. Struggling with injuries in the goal keeper department has made things hard for us but that aside we didn’t turn up at all as a team in the first half and failed to trouble the Cork City goals. It’s a bad reflection on the efforts being put in by the players since the start of the season. The girls have worked hard and we have increased the contact time in training this season so to see them have such a bad half of football was disheartening to say the least. We regrouped at the break, made a few changes and the girls put in a much better showing in the second half and were a lot more competitive and came out on top in the second 45. Unfortunately, the goal count we had conceded by in the first half was just too much to claw back in the second half. We must to take the second half performance as something we have to build on going forward and see that as the positive from the game.
Both of our goals were scored by Jayne Ryan who showed real determination to get us a foothold in the game. She has worked hard in recent weeks and has been frustrated by the lack of goals and assists so we were delighted for her to get a brace, well deserved.
Thanks again to those who travelled to the game and gave their support to the players on the day.
After two weeks on the road, the WU19s are back in UL when Waterford FC are the visitors.
MU14
Our MU14s travelled to Castlebar to take on Mayo FC. The sides played out a 2-2 draw earlier in the year.

Result:
Mayo FC 1 Treaty United 2
The U14s had a long trip up to Mayo on Sunday and were determined to come away with a positive performance and result. The opening third of the 3×25 minute was a Treaty dominated affair with lots of possession but we failed to create many clear chances. Treaty began the middle third in the same fashion dominating the ball and starting to find rhythm. This was interrupted when the referee gave Mayo a penalty when two Mayo players collided with each other in the Treaty penalty area. Mayo dispatched the penalty and the boys found themselves 1-0 down. There was something to cheer on the 50th minute mark as a corner routine the players had been working on paid dividends as Sam Newman claimed the goal for Treaty. In the final third, Treaty grabbed the winner through Konrad Miskiewicz as he delightfully chipped the keeper in a 1v1.
Overall the Treaty team will be happy with the consistent progress they’re making on the pitch with their style of play.
