Treaty United

It was a night of drama in Kerry last time out in the league as Treaty somehow came away from Mounthawk Park with three points having lost first-choice keeper Corey Chambers to injury before conceding a late penalty.

The league leaders went ahead through newly-signed striker Yoyo Mahdy in the 61st minute.

The Limerick-side, however, rode their luck at times giving up a number of chances until Michael Dike gave away a penalty in injury time by bringing down Daniel Okwute. Up stepped Ryan Kelliher who blasted his penalty high over the bar.

The final whistle blew immediately leading to wild celebrations in the away section of the ground as Treaty held on to their 100% record in the league.

It was a huge win for Treaty who very much have momentum on their side at the moment in their league campaign.

A squad filled with young players returned to Kerry on Monday for the Munster Senior Cup semi-final and went down 4-1 on the night but will value the experience of facing a strong Kerry XI.

Bray Wanderers

The Seagulls haven’t played since February 23rd in terrible weather conditions in Kerry.

Their game last week against Longford Town was postponed after their pitch at the Carlisle Grounds failed an inspection.

Ian Ryan’s side will be aiming for a win in Limerick with Cork City to follow next week.

Past Meetings

These clubs are quite familiar with each other.

Treaty United’s first ever competitive senior men’s game was a hard-fought 0-0 draw with

10-men against Bray at the Carlisle Grounds in 2021.

Eleven league ties between the sides have yielded four wins for Treaty to Bray’s two.

Last time out at the Carlisle Grounds, Treaty salvaged a late draw with a Mark Walsh goal in the 94th minute.

However, Treaty failed to beat the Seagulls at home last season. A 1-0 defeat to a late Ben Feeney goal in February last year was a particularly disappointing result.
