Treaty United are delighted to announce the signing of Thomas Considine.
The Kildare native, who has been capped for Ireland at U17 level, joins Treaty from Wexford FC. A player who is impressive on the right side of midfield and defence, he becomes the latest addition to Tommy Barrett’s squad ahead of the new season starting on February 16.
Thomas started his underage League of Ireland career at Bohemians where he played alongside current Treaty United player Colin Conroy. Considine enjoyed great success with Bohs, winning the U17 Mark Farren Cup and making four UEFA Youth League appearances across two-legged ties with Midtjylland and PAOK.
He joined Wexford FC in the summer of 2021 and quickly became a fan favourite, helping the club to an FAI Cup victory over Sligo Rovers and taking Dundalk to extra-time. He recorded three goals and six assists in 38 appearances in his first eighteen months but sat out 2023 due to injury.
Speaking to TreatyUnitedFC.com, Senior Men’s manager Tommy Barrett was excited about his latest addition:
“Thomas is potentially a really good player for us. He was very unlucky with injury last year, but he was back training with us last week where he took part in two sessions fully. Obviously, he’s lacking a bit of fitness but he’s a young lad and he’ll be fit in six or seven weeks. He’s a real good signing for us because he’s an exciting winger, left or right, and he can play full-back as well. He’s a very intelligent footballer and I think the crowd will be really excited by him as he’s a lot like Willie Armshaw.”
