Mark Walsh Re-Signs

Treaty United are pleased to announce that Mark Walsh has re-signed for the 2024 season.

The Nenagh man has been with Treaty United since the very beginning and is set to continue into his fourth season with the club.

Formerly of Athlone Town and Nenagh Celtic, Mark has made 71 appearances over the last three seasons with Treaty United but had to wait until 2023 for his first goals for the club – a late equaliser against Bray Wanderers and a header at home to Galway United.

His no-nonsense defending has made him an integral part of the Treaty United team, becoming a fan favourite along the way.

Manager Tommy Barrett spoke to TreatyUnitedFC.com upon Mark’s re-signing and was delighted to have him tied down for 2024:

“Mark is a great lad and a really experienced player despite not having many League of Ireland appearances under his belt. There was a big gap between him playing with Athlone Town and joining Treaty United, but I always felt he could step up from my time playing alongside him at Athlone. He has a super attitude and really looks after himself and, for me, he’s one of the most underrated players in the league. He’s a proper defender, never gets caught in one-on-ones and does his job for the team. He’ll be of huge benefit to the team and the younger players next year.”
