Treaty United

The Limerick-based side come into this one on a poor run of form in terms of results. A deflating 3-2 home defeat to Longford Town where a 94th minute winner secured three points for the midlanders was followed by a difficult trip to Eamonn Deacy Park where First Division high fliers Galway United ran out 3-0 winners.

Sitting second from bottom now, and five points adrift of the play offs, Treaty desperately need a win to reinvigorate their push for promotion.

Finn Harps

The same might be said for Finn Harps’ form guide. They have had a rather disappointing season following their relegation for the top flight last season.

A 2-1 defeat of Kerry earlier this month was followed by a decent point against league leaders Galway United with a 91st minute goal securing a 2-2 draw. A 4-1 defeat to Athlone Town last week though was indicative of the patchy form that has dogged Harps’ season.

Club stalwart Keith Cowan, who made over 250 appearances for the club, departed earlier this month.

Past Meetings

The clubs have only met twice in league competition, a 2-0 defeat for Treaty in Ballybofey, with goals from Ryan Rainey and Filip Fjeldheim Da Silva, deciding the game and a 3-0 win for Finn Harps at the Markets Field back in May. A Ryan Flood brace was supplemented by a late goal from Aaron McLaughlin.
