Treaty United
Having picked up their first point of the season away to Kerry FC last season, Tommy Barrett will be hoping that his side can pick up three points on Friday and start to kick on in the First Division. Treaty were unfortunate to come away empty-handed on the opening day as a late strike saw Bray Wanderers take all three points, while a Rob Slevin header was enough for Galway United to pick up the win at Eamonn Deacy Park on matchday two.
The Opposition
Cobh Ramblers come to the Markets Field having made a strong start to the season, winning two and drawing one in their opening three games. A two-goal victory away to new side Kerry FC on the opening day was followed up a by a win against Wexford at St. Colman’s Park one week later. The Rams had to settle for a draw last Saturday when they visited Longford Town at Bishopsgate Stadium.
Words From Players and Management:
Manager Tommy Barrett – “We’re looking forward to the game. I felt that we were unfortunate against Kerry and had enough chances to win the game and we know how well this unbeaten Cobh side have done. We are looking for a good vocal support and hopefully we can give them something to cheer about.”
Past Meetings
In seven previous meetings Cobh Ramblers have failed to register a win but will fancy their chances more than ever in this meeting. Treaty United have won four clashes between the sides with the other three ending in stalemate.
