Shane Hallahan Signs

Treaty United are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Shane Hallahan for the 2023 Men’s First Division season.

Shane, who played the opening half of Treaty’s friendly against Cork City last Saturday, joins from Munster Senior League Premier Division side Cobh Wanderers.

A Cobh native, Shane plied his trade with Cobh Ramblers at U19 level and won the Southern Division in 2011. Shane broke into their first team in 2013 and spent two-and-a-half seasons with the Rams, recording seven clean sheets in 26 appearances before departing for Cobh Wanderers due to work commitments.

Shane picked up a plethora of silverware at Cobh Wanderers and was a member of the squad that reached the FAI Intermediate Cup final in May of 2017, coming up short against Liffey Wanderers.

As a member of the Navy, Shane has represented the Irish Defence Forces in the Oscar Traynor Trophy and was between the sticks in early 2022 when they took on the UK Defence Forces in the Perpetual Friendship Shield at Tallaght Stadium.

When speaking to the Treaty United media team Shane was thrilled at returning to the League of Ireland and excited to see the fans at the Markets Field:

“I’m absolutely delighted to have signed for Treaty United, when I got the phone call I couldn’t wait to get started! I’m really looking forward to meeting the fans and everyone involved with the club. See ye soon for a massive year ahead!”
