Extra.ie FAI Cup 2nd Round Preview Treaty United Vs Maynooth University Town

Treaty United will look to get into the Extra.ie FAI Cup Quarter Finals for the first time in the clubs history as they take on Maynooth University Town in John Hyland Park on Saturday. 

Last Time Out

Goals from Sean Guerins, Dean George, Enda Curran and Success Edogun gave Treaty a 5-0 win over Leinster Senior League side Usher Celtic in the first round of the cup. Going into the fixture, Treaty are looking to bounce back after a disappointing away loss to First Division strugglers Athlone Town. 

The Opposition

Maynooth University Town is a Junior side from Co. Kildare, that play in the Leinster Senior League. To get to the last 16 stage, Maynooth got past Waterford outfit Villa FC with a 2-1 win. Last season, Maynooth reached the quarter-finals of the cup by beating first division side Cobh Ramblers in the last 16. Maynooth ended their cup run by losing to eventual runners-up Bohemians. One player to watch is former Longford Town player Callum Warfield, who recently moved to the club.
