First off, congratulations to brothers Fionn and Conor Kennedy who were called up to the National Academy Player Pathway in FAI Headquarters. Fionn was called up for the 2011 group while Conor was called up for the 2010 group.

All 6 of our Treaty United Carelon Academy teams were in action this weekend.

WU17

Our WU17s travelled to the Oscar Traynor Complex in Dublin to play Bohemians FC in the Elite Phase of their league.

Our lineup for the game was as follows:

Starting 11:

Ruby Linnane, Eibhlin Butler, Alex Sheehy, Aoibhe O’Leary, Caila Nelligan, Jennifer Hogan, Kate Lee (C), Rachel O’Shea, Aoife Frawley, Mylie Treacy, Eleanor Blake

Subs:

Emma Jones, Ellen Hackett, Mya Lee

Report:

Our WU17s were on the road again this weekend playing Bohemians in Dublin in almost 30°C heat. Unfortunately, the girls went down to a narrow 1-0 defeat but credit to them for their efforts in that heat with a depleted squad that saw only 2 outfield players to call on from the bench.

The girls started well and were hugely encouraged when Ruby Linnane superbly saved a penalty on 20 minutes to follow on from the 4 she saved last week with the WU19s vs Shamrock Rovers. Wow!

Bohs had a lot of the play which left Treaty defending for large periods of the game and they really dug in with some excellent defending from the back 4 and captain Kate Lee in defensive midfield. Up front, Aoife Frawley simply never stopped running and her press relieved some of the pressure on the rest of the team and the first half ended level at 0-0.

Treaty were better in the 2nd half and had chances of their own but Bohs had pace all over and on 70 minutes they scored a screamer from 20 yards to give them the lead. Treaty rallied but couldn’t get the equalizer and thanks to sub keeper Emma Jones they were lucky not to concede a second. Some great performances especially from Alex Sheehy at full back and Player of the Match Caila Neligan in midfield.

Next up is a home game to leaders Shelbourne in the Markets Field on Saturday July 19th where the girls will look to continue their significant progress at this elite level.

MU15

Our MU15s travelled to the SETU Arena to take on Waterford FC in the league .

Our lineup for the game was as follows:

Starting 11:

Daniel O’Connell, Conor Kennedy (C), Danny Hammond, James Palache, Alex Meaney, Mighty Odudu, Paddy Gubbins, Evan Hogan, Ben Doumbouya, Gavin Scanlan, Wisdom Amaeze

Subs:

Emmet O’Donnell, Fionn Kennedy,  Sean Kelly, Cathal Donnelly

Report:

Our MU15s fell to a 2-0 defeat away to league leaders Waterford FC in the SETU Arena.

We were missing a number of players for this game and MU14 players Fionn Kennedy,  Sean Kelly and Emmet O’Donnell were all on the bench and made their MU15 league debuts with a great contribution for all of them.

The home side opened the scoring after 23 minutes. We battled hard but the home side doubled their lead on the hour mark and held out for victory.

The MU15s have a free weekend next weekend and return to action on 26th July with a home league game against Kerry FC.

MU20

Our MU20s travelled to St Coleman’s Park for a league game against Cobh Ramblers.

Our lineup for the game was as follows:

Starting 11:

Conor Wall, Cian Carmody, Matt Jones (C), Scott Murphy, Sean Costelloe, Kyle Foley, Fintan O’Kelly, Fionn Doherty, Jack Dunleavy, Michael MacSweeney, Kayden Deegan Herlihy

Subs:

Dylan Ashman, Brandon Long, Shane Franklin, Rhys Barry, Michael Mulcahy, Tiernan Adelu

Report:

Our MU20s continued their good run of form with a hard earned point against a strong Cobh team in St Colmans Park. Treaty started much the better side but were caught napping when a long range strike opened the scoring for Cobh. Treaty went close with a few chances either side of the break and eventually equalised on 55 minutes when a parried Scott Murphy shot was tapped in by Sean Costelloe. Kaeden Deegan Herlihy forced the Cobh stopper into a wonder save late on and the hosts were denied two late penalty shouts as both teams had to settle for a draw.

Next up for Treaty a home tie against Kerry next Saturday 2pm in Hogan Park.

In MU20 transfer news, we can confirm the release of the following players

Seanie O’Haodha/ Kallum Corr/ Cillian Mulvihill/ Isaac o Sullivan/ Cullen Wiegard

We thank all players for their valuable contributions and wish them all the best in the future.

Treaty can also announce the signing of the following players

Dylan Ashman (Pike Rovers)

Jack Dunleavy (Avenue United)

Michael MacSweeney (Apoel Limassol)

Rhys Barry (re-signed Treaty 2024)

Our lineup for the game was as follows:

Starting 11:

Emmet O’Donnell, Fionn Kennedy, Gibby Celebrini, Gabriel Nseka, Adam Rochford, Jack Sheehy,

Report:

Congratulations to our MU14s who topped their Group in the Eddie Wallace Cup competition by recording their third win from 3 games. Following victories against Bohemians and Galway United, they welcomed Longford Town in their final Group 6 game.

We fell behind to a Longford goal after 24 minutes. After this, the group galvanised and got ourselves back in control of the game which was played in ferocious heat. Liam McCauge got us back on level terms from the spot and Adam Rochford popped up with the winner to give us a 2-1 victory.

Our players of the match were Ciaran Irwin and Jack Bourke.

Next Sunday, we start Phase 2 of our league campaign with the visit of Klub Kildare to Hogan Park.

WU19

Our WU19s travelled to the Bishopstown to play Cork City in the league.

Our lineup for the game was as follows:

Starting 11:

Niamh Kinehan, Sadbh Griffin, Ava Neary (C), Sirena Celebrini, Ellen Goggin, Grace Ehinger, Molly Lane, Suvi Isabella O’Connor, Saoirse Kent, Ciara Breslin, Jayne Ryan

Subs:

Megan O’Reilly, Chloe Widger, Lily-Anne O’Meara, Abbey Walsh, Emma Meaney

Report:

Our WU19’s winning run came to an end today in what can only be described as the most physical battle encountered so far this season. Treaty struggled against a strong wind in the first half with the defence of Ava Neary, Molly Lane, Sadbh Griffin and Saoirse Kent dealing as best they could with the long ball game from Cork. Niamh Kinehan in goal provided some superb saves in the first half to keep Treaty level yet could do nothing about Cork’s first goal on 27 minutes where shouts for a wide ball were waved away by the lone official and Cork pounced to score.

Treaty’s midfield of Ellen Goggin, Suvi O Connor and Sirena Celebrini did everything to exploit the space but could not find the net – O’Connors free kick effort bouncing off the cross bar that would have seen them level.

Cork once again found the net, this time from a long ball over the top, just as the half was coming to an end.

Ciara Breslin worked tirelessly up front with the support of Jayne Ryan and Grace Ehinger. On the resumption of the second half, fresh legs of Lily Anne O Meara and Emma Meaney were introduced and Treaty pressed more and more. However, Cork settled the game with their third goal from a free kick at the edge of the area.

Treaty battled immensely throughout and were rewarded with a fantastic goal from Lily Anne O’ Meara from an Abbey Walsh assist who was excellent after entering the game on the left wing.

Treaty were unlucky not to add to their score in the final moments with Cork’s goalkeeper in good form. Despite the injuries suffered in the game, Treaty continued to show their resilience and will look to make amends next week in their first game in the Markets Field v DLR Waves.

MU17

Our MU17s travelled to the Oscar Traynor Complex in Dublin to play Bohemians in their Elite Phase league.

Our lineup for the game was as follows:

Starting 11:

Conor Crofton, Kian Dempsey (C), Nathan Mathewebo, Conor O’Mahony, Tadhg McElligott, Mark O’Callaghan, Christian Stack, James Rochford, Timmy O’Sullivan, Nathanael Mthembu, Ryan Moloney

Subs:

Darragh Van Veen, Joey Nwankwo, Alex Omoruyi, Gavin Ryan

Report:

Our MU17s returned to Elite Phase action on the road to Bohemians on Sunday. In scorching temperatures, Treaty were slow to start and found themselves one down after just 2 minutes. Bohs extended their advantage on 14 mins solidifying their good start to the game. A well needed water break on the 20 minute mark gave Treaty a chance to change shape to better match their opponent.

Treaty found themselves back in the game 2 minutes after the water break when debutant Ryan Moloney turned two Bohs defenders inside out before squaring the ball to James Rochford who calmly slotted home. Treaty continued to grow into the game and started creating some good chances. The teams returned to the dressing rooms at half time with a scoreline of 2-1 in favour of the home side.

A poor start to the second half saw Treaty concede just two minutes in. The Treaty players expected to see the linesman’s flag raised for an offside but it did not come. Treaty kicked on from this point and started to see a lot more of the possession. On the 79th minute Gavin Ryan found Alex Omouryi with an excellent through ball, Alex dispatched it to make it a 3-2 game. A couple of good moments were to come but Treaty failed to take any of their chances. On the 93rd minute, with Treaty piling bodies forward in search of an equaliser Bohs were able to secure their points on the counter attack.

Plenty of positives on the day, with players returning from injuries and new signings in, the MU17s will look to kick on from here. Special mention to Ryan Moloney and Nathan Ebo who both put in excellent performances on their debuts having signed from Pike Rovers and Murroe AFC respectively.

The MU17s are back in action next Sunday as they continue their Elite Phase league campaign hosting Shelbourne in Hogan Park.
