MU20
Our MU20s travelled to the Roadstone Complex in Dublin to take on Shamrock Rovers in a league game.
Our lineup for the game was as follows:
Starting 11:
Conor Crofton, Matt Jones (C), Cian Carmody, Sean Costelloe, Michael MacSweeney, Roy Lawlor, Fintan O’Kelly, Kyle Foley, Kayden Deegan Herlihy, Gavin Ryan, Nathanael Mthembu
Subs:
Dylan Ashman, Alex Omoruyi, Brandon Long, Shane Franklin, Jack Dunleavy, Tiernan Adelu, Michael Mulcahy, Rory McKeon
Our MU20s recorded an excellent win on the road to Shamrock Rovers on Saturday. Rovers took the lead in the 17th minute though a well delivered corner. Treaty started to gain momentum after falling behind and after squandering some clear-cut chances, Treaty equalised on the 27th minute mark. Matt Jones delivered an excellent cross-field pass to Roy Lawlor. Lawlor was quick to beat the opposition full back before finishing emphatically.
A dream start to the second half saw an excellent team move finished well by Sean Costelloe at the front post. As the half progressed, Rovers began to push bodies forward in search of an equaliser. This gave excellent opportunities on the counter for Kayden Deegan, Mike Mulcahy, Nathaniel Mthembu and Matt Jones but, unfortunately, we were unable to convert our chances. Treaty continued to defend well with the game finishing with a deserved win for the Limerick side. Great to see three 2009 players starting for the MU20s and contributing massively throughout.
Next up for MU20s is a home games in Hogan Park against CK United on Saturday September 6th.
MU15
Our MU15s travelled to Mounthawk Park in Tralee to take on Kerry FC. Our MU15s had won the reverse fixture 4-2.
Our lineup for the game was as follows:
Starting 11:
Daniel O’Connell, Conor Kennedy, James Palache, Alex Meaney, Conor Brady, Kaylum Matha, Paddy Gubbins, Mighty Odudu, Mark Regan (C), Wisdom Amaeze, Ben Doumbouya
Subs:
Danny Hammond, Jordan Brown, Gavin Scanlan, Evan Hogan, Cathal Donnelly, Mieszko Kurylonski, Conor Campbell
Our MU15s fell to defeat in Mounthawk Park. The home side took the lead as early as the 5th minute with a miscommunication at the back and a deflected effort. Kerry doubled their lead on the 13th minute, when they scored from a counter-attack. For the rest of the half, we totally dominated with some really good football but we weren’t able to produce an end product.
Mid-way through the second half Kerry FC wrapped up the points with another counter attack goal. Credit to the home side for their tactics as we dominated the possession but they made great use of transitions and counter-attacks.
Our MU15s are on the road again next weekend as they travel to Marley Park to take on UCD FC in the league.
MU14
Our MU14s travelled to Kilkenny to take on CK United in a league game.
Our lineup for the game was as follows:
Starting 11:
Seamus Greene, Marco Lopez, Fionn Kennedy, Jude Cullen, Ciaran Irwin, Sean Kelly (C), Jack Bourke, Morgan Barrett, Liam McCague, Adam Rochford, Dion Hannon
Subs:
Gibby Celebrini, Jack Sheehy, Yanis Mambouna, Hugh Canty, Sean O’Carroll, Paddy O’Sullivan, Harry Millan
Our MU14s suffered a 2 nil defeat in blustery conditions away to CK United. Treaty dominated many aspects of the game and played all the football with the opposition looking for the counter attacks. Their tactics worked from the point of view of a result as a 40-yard screamer and a dubious setpiece gave them the victory. We can be happy with the type of football we played and we created some great chances but found the home keeper in great form. Players of the match were Jack Burke and Sean Kelly.
Next up for our MU14s is a trip to Cobh to take on Cobh Ramblers.
MU17
Our MU17s made the long trip to Belfast on Sunday to play the second phase of their Cross Border Games. Treaty got the opportunity to test themselves against the 3 best sides in Northern Ireland in Cliftonville, Larne and Linfield.
Treaty MU17 2-0 Cliftonville
After the 5 hour trip from Limerick to Belfast, Treaty struggled to get any momentum in the first half. A lot of unnecessary turnovers and lack of intensity made life difficult. Treaty started to get in to the game in the second half and started to create some chances. The introduction of Gavin Ryan, Nathaniel Mthembu, Sean Kiely and Rory McKeon off the bench was the spark that was needed. Sean Kiely opened the scoring with an excellent finish from distance. Gavin Ryan secured the win with a brilliant volley with 4 minutes to go.
Treaty MU17 1-0 Larne
In their second game, Treaty picked up from where they finished the first game. Playing on the front foot, Treaty were able to create numerous chances with their excellent pressing and attacking play but struggled to put the finishing touch on it far too often. Nathaniel Mthembu was finally able to edge Treaty in front latching on to a Sean Kiely through ball before finishing cooly into the bottom right corner. The game continued in a similar manner with Treaty struggling to find their finishing boots before running out 1-0 winners.
Treaty MU17 0-1 Linfield
A difficult game in which the Limerick side struggled to get any rhythm in. In a very stop/ start game with lots of free kicks and offsides, neither side seemed to get any momentum. Linfield scored mid way through the first half to take the lead. Both teams had some half chances for the remainder of the game and Treaty missed their one big chance late on to equalise.
Overall a great day out for the MU17s finishing up 2 wins and 1 loss.
Squad:
Dylan Ashman, Darragh Van Veen, Conor Crofton, Nathan Ebo, Joey Nwankwo, Tadhg McElliot, Kian Dempsey, Rory McKeon, James Rochford, Mark O’Callaghan, Alex Omouryi, Gavin Ryan, Nathaniel Mthembu, Conor O’Mahony, Ryan Moloney, Christian Stack, Sean Kiely.

WU17
Our WU17s were in Abbotstown where they played 3 games as part of an Academy Development Day.
Treaty WU17 0 Finn Harps 2
A game where Treaty played all the football in hurricane-like conditions but conceded 2 goals almost direct from 2 second half corners. We tried to get back into it but the Finn Harps keeper was excellent.
Caila Neligan was our Player of the Match at fullback.
Treaty WU17 1 Shelbourne 1
Playing some of the best football we played all season with slick passing and attacking at speed throughout, Treaty unbelievably went in 1 down at halftime to an injury time first half goal. In the 2nd half, Treaty dominated and Mylie Treacy scored a screamer to pull us level. We had some great chances to win it but also needed Emma Jones to save us more than once in goals.
Player of the Match was Alex Sheehy in midfield.
Treaty WU17 1 Kerry FC 0
In a game that should have finished with a high scoring victory to Treaty, we had to settle for a 1-0 win but left happy in our dominant performance after playing some outstanding football all over the pitch. The winning goal was an own goal after a great press from Eleanor Blake up front.
Best for Treaty were Ellen Hackett and Orlaith O’Connell.
A good team building day had by all.
