MU17
First into action on the weekend were our MU17s who travelled to Oranmore on Friday night to take on Galway United in the Elite Phase of their league.
Our lineup for the game was as follows:
Starting 11:
Dylan Ashman, Nathan Mathewebo, Alex Omoruyi, Kian Dempsey, Mark O’Callaghan, Gavin Ryan, Conor O’Mahony, Tadhg McElligott, Ryan Moloney, Timmy O’Sullivan, Christian Stack
Subs:
Rory McKeon, James Rochford, Sean Kiely, Nathanael Mthembu, Tony Hourigan
Our MU17s made it three wins in 4 on the road away to Galway on Friday night. Treaty started brightly and dominated the ball for large parts of the first half. 10 minutes in to the game an excellent run by Conor O’Mahony was bested by an even better cross in to the box, where Mark O’Callaghan arrived and finished with his first touch with a volley. Treaty thought they had doubled their lead through Timmy O’Sullivan before a late flag for offside was raised.
Galway equalised from the penalty spot 7 minutes in to the second half and started to gain some momentum. Treaty were able to bring fresh legs and regain the upper hand at the midway point of the second half. On the 85th minute, Treaty got their deserved winner when Nathaniel Mthembu found Sean Kiely who expertly finished. A couple of cagey moments late on but Treaty held on to a deserved 3 points.
Next up for the MU17s is a home fixture against Bohemians.
WU17s
Our WU17s were next into action when they travelled to Athenry to take on Galway United in their Elite Phase league campaign.
Our lineup for the game was as follows:
Starting 11:
Emma Jones, Jennifer Hogan, Kate Lee (C), Ciara Austin, Alex Sheehy, Aoibhe O’Leary, Orlaith O’Connell, Mya Lee, Aoife Frawley, Mioda O’Shea, Ellen Hackett
Subs:
Rhiann Murphy, Rachel O’Shea, Grace Geary, Mylie Treacy, Honor Mulvihill, Eleanor Blake, EIbhlin Butler, Caila Neligan
Our WU17s went down 5-2 away to Galway today in a feisty end-to-end game in Athenry.
Having gone 1 up early on through a calm Orlaith O’Connell finish after great work from Aoife Frawley, Treaty conceded a couple of sloppy goals with the second right on the halftime whistle which left us 2-1 down at the break.
Spirits were high going out for the second half and Treaty started well with some slick passing from back to front. Unfortunately, chasing an equalizer cost us with 2 early second half goals deflating the girls for a period of time. But the girls dug in again and pulled the score back to 4-2 with a close range Mioda O’Shea finish following good work from Honor Mulvihill. The girls piled forward but were caught on the break on 77 minutes to see the 3 goal deficit restored in Galway’s favour.
Treaty kept going and Caila Neligan was so unlucky not to score late on following excellent build up play from Aoife Frawley and Honor again on the right.
The scoreline however was not the important story of today as the game saw great minutes for returning players Rhiann Murphy in goals and Eibhlin Butler at centre half after lengthy layoffs through injury. The squad put in a super effort throughout but Galway were too good on the day. Our Player of the Match was Alex Sheehy in midfield.
Next up is our last home game of the season against Bohemian FC next Saturday. Hopefully, the great support will be there again next week to cheer on the girls.
MU15
Next in action were our MU15s who hosted Klub Kildare in Hogan Park in their final regular season game.
Our lineup for the game was as follows:
Starting 11:
Daniel O’Connell, Conor Kennedy, Danny Hammond, Jordan Brown (C), James Palache, Kaylum Matha, Paddy Gubbins, Evan Hogan, Cathal Donnelly, Conor Brady, Conor Campbell,
Subs:
Alex Clancy, Alex Meaney, Mighty Odudu, Ben Doumbouya, Mark Regan, Gavin Scanlan, Mieszko Kurylonski, Wisdom Amaeze
Our MU15s recorded a well-deserved win at home to Klub Kildare with a very consistent performance. The visitors took an early lead, scoring after 10 minutes. We took control of the game and had turned the game around by the interval.
Just after the half hour James Palache grabbed his first goal of the season. It was great to see James grab a goal for himself. He has the highest number of assist in the league and finally put his name on the score sheet. It means that 15 of our 17 outfield players have officially scored goals during the season. Paddy Gubbins grabbed our second in first half added time to send us in 2-1 ahead at the break.
The second half proved scoreless and do we ran out winners. We are proud of their progress all along and with such an aggressive attacking mindset that gave us so many set pieces that we took advantage of.
With the regular Phase 2 league season coming to an end we have qualified for the quarter final of the MU15 Shield where we are away to Dundalk FC.
MU20
Our MU20s were away to Drogheda in the quarter-final of the MU20 Shield.
Our lineup for the game was as follows:
Starting 11:
Dylan Ashman, Michael MacSweeney, Kyle Foley (C), Kayden Deegan Herlihy, Darren Nwankwo, Sean Costelloe, Michael Mulcahy, Tiernan Adelu, James Rochford, Brandon Long, Scott Murphy
Subs:
Joey Nwankwo, Ryan Moloney, Nathaniel Mthembu, Sean Kiely
Our MU20s made the long trip to Drogheda Saturday for a shield quarter final.
Having already faced Drogheda earlier this season in the cup, Treaty went in to the game with a clear plan to limit the opposition in possession. Defending a bit deeper than normal to prevent spaces in behind, the home side struggled to create any meaningful chances in the first half while Treaty went close on a couple of occasions.
The second half followed the same pattern but Treaty failed to make any clear cut chances. A lapse in concentration on the 76th minute gave Drogheda the important breakthrough. Treaty piled forward in search of an equaliser and were finally caught on the counter in the 90th minute when Drogheda secured their place in the semi final. That game wraps up the MU20s 2025 season.
WU19
Our WU19s took on Bohemian FC in the final of the WU19 Cup in the Athlone Town stadium.
Our lineup for the game was as follows:
Starting 11:
Ruby Linnane, Annabel Mulcaire Quille, Sadbh Griffin, Ava Neary (C), Aibhlinn Cotter, Kate Jones, Lily-Anne O Meara, Amy Tierney, Sirena Celebrini, Ellen Goggin, Ciara Breslin
Niamh Kinehan, Emma Meaney, Ella Carey, Chloe Wallace, Abbey Walsh, Suvi Isabella O’Connor, Saoirse Kent, Jayne Ryan, Grace Ehinger
Our WU19s finished off their domestic season with the WU19s Cup Final v Bohemians on Sunday in the excellent Athlone Town Stadium.
Treaty worked hard defensively throughout the first half with Bohs dominating possession in the middle of the pitch. Treaty were showing some positive play, especially on the wings through Sirena Celebrini and Lily Anne O’ Meara but could not find the vital break to take the lead. In what was a very physical encounter, Treaty finished the first half in a positive way and were hoping the second half would provide more opportunities.
Within minutes of the restart, Bohemians took to lead through an unfortunate error and only 5 minutes later increased their lead with an excellent finish. To Treaty’s credit, they piled forward looking to get back in the game with Grace Ehinger and Ciara Breslin both coming close to scorin. However, Bohs game management won out on the day and the final whistle brought an end to Treaty’s hopes of the Cup coming to Limerick.
Great credit due to all WU19s players for a super season. The increase in personal development, win percentage and development of young players from academy into senior football have been memorable for everyone and the future is bright for all involved!
MU14
Our MU14s travelled to the Carlisle Grounds to take on Bray Wanderers in the league.
Our lineup for the game was as follows:
Starting 11:
Sean O’Carroll, Marco Lopez, Fionn Kennedy, Gibby Celebrini, Jude Cullen, Yanis Mambouna, Sean Kelly (C), Liam McCague, Adam Rochford, Precieux Malonga, Harry Millan
Subs:
Emmet O’Donnell, Hugh Canty, Gabriel Nseka, Seamus Greene, Dion Hannon, Paddy O’Sullivan, Jack Sheehy
The 6-2 scoreline doesn’t reflect a very entertaining game at the fantastic Carlisle Grounds in Bray.
Treaty conceded from the first attack of the game follwing a mix up. Determined and full of football, Treaty raced into a lead with a worldie from Gabi Neska and a solid headed from centre half Yanis Mambouana. A second Bray goal levelled the game on the 30th minute.
Great work by Marco Lopez saw balls delivered into the box to no avail. An injury to our centre half and juggling the team around didn’t help. At 3- 2 in 60th minute we hit the post twice through Precieux. In the this period, we struggled to defend centrally which led to more goals conceded.
Next up is a home tie against CK United on Sunday.
