Treaty United are delighted to announce the signing of top Canadian forward, Danielle Steer.

The 25 year old British Columbia native joins Dominic Foley’s Senior Women’s squad having most recently lined out on a professional contract for Turkish Women’s Football Super League side Fenerbahce.

Danielle played collegiately with the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds from 2017 to 2022, recording an incredible 57 goals and 28 assists in 97 appearances for UBC. In 2021, she set the Canada West single goal scoring record with 18 and in 2022 she set the all-time Canada West career points record in women’s soccer, a league that featured her new Treaty United teammates Erin Van Dolder and Stefanie Young. Danielle received many individual and team accolades in her time with UBC including being named a U Sports All Canadian in 2018 and 2022 and leading UBC to a National Championship in 2019.

After university she went on to her first pro contract in 2022-2023 playing in the Australian Women’s A-League with Western United, scoring in the first 5 minutes of her professional debut against Canberra.

Treaty United CEO Ciara McCormack spoke to TreatyUnitedFC.com following Danielle signing with the club, and outlined how signing a player of her calibre was a priority in this summer window:

“After losing many close games to top league competition over the last few weeks, we focused our attention as a priority in the summer window, for a player that was an experienced goal scorer. Danielle is one of the most highly regarded young Canadian forwards, with a strong record of scoring at the pro level, and we’re ecstatic that she’s chosen Treaty United to continue her development and no doubt will have a positive impact on the team for the second half of the season.”

Dominic Foley’s side returns for the second half of the season against Shamrock Rovers at the Markets Field this Saturday at 5PM.
